To Determine the Amount of Soil Needed per Planter
Multiple the volume of the planter by the density of the potting soil and you’ll have the weight of the soil needed for the planter.

How to find the density of your potting soil
Step 1: Using a square container, measure the length, width and height
Step 2: Calculate the volume of this container
Volume = length x width x height
Step 3: Weigh the empty square container
Step 4: Fill the container with potting soil, take the new weight and subtract that from the weight of the container by itself
Step 5: Divide the weight of the soil by the volume of the container and you’ll have the density of the soil
Density = Mass / Volume
